Nordic to open new office in Copenhagen

Nordic Semiconductor today announced it will open a new office in Copenhagen, Denmark, in early 2023. The office will house a group of analog designers, while also serving as a hub for attracting other talent in Denmark. The move to open in Copenhagen began with the identification of a team of talented engineers with a shared, long-established history of high performance.

The expansion into Denmark is part of Nordic’s long-term strategy of taking a global perspective when it comes to recruiting highly skilled engineers, and of establishing hubs in regions where relevant talent is concentrated.

During recent years Nordic has successfully followed this strategy by expanding its footprint within Finland, Poland, the U.K., the U.S, Sweden and India. 

Strengthening wireless expertise

These key expansions have enabled the company to significantly strengthen its wireless technology hardware and software expertise and become one of few companies able to offer Bluetooth Low Energy, LTE-M/NB-IoT and Wi-Fi solutions.   

“Talented engineers are in high demand across the globe, and fundamental to ensuring we design and build the products our customers need today and tomorrow,” says Jannicke Ianssen, Nordic’s VP Organizational Development & Talent. “This new Copenhagen office is an example of Nordic’s dynamic and flexible approach to recruiting.”  

“Our approach allows us to not only recruit the best engineers in Norway, but also to establish local offices where and when groups of skilled engineers become available,” says Ianssen. “And because Nordic operates with a distributed management structure and little hierarchy, we can make fast decisions and move rapidly to secure the talent we need.” 

Nordic places a heavy emphasis on R&D, with the engineering team making up over 70% of the company’s staff.  

Office establishment through to open-for-business for the new Copenhagen office is expected to take three months.
