Nordic Semiconductor to host a series of daily interactive web conferences during cancelled Feb 24-27 Mobile World Congress week starting Monday

Nordic Web Conference

Monday Feb 24 will cover cellular IoT development on the Nordic Thingy:91; Tuesday Feb 25 an overview of Nordic’s latest nRF5340 dual core System-on-Chip; Wednesday Feb 26 exciting new features for Nordic’s multi-mode LTE-M/NB-IoT nRF9160 SiP in the latest v1.2 of Nordic’s nRF Connect SDK; and finally on Thursday Feb 27 a series of demos that Nordic was planning to present at Mobile World Congress. All web conferences will begin at 2pm CET

With the GSMA’s cancellation of this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) due to major concerns around the global spread of the coronavirus, Nordic Semiconductor plans to host a series of its own Nordic Web Conferences (NWC) during the cancelled February 24-27 MWC week starting this Monday.

The web conferences are all free and registration can be done by using the direct links supplied below.

The schedule will be as follows:

Monday Feb 24, 2 PM CET: Cellular IoT development on Thingy:91
Presenter: Joakim Tønnesen, Technical Product Manager – Cellular IoT, Nordic Semiconductor

This webinar takes you through the steps required to get started with cellular IoT development on the Nordic Thingy:91 battery-operated prototyping platform for cellular IoT, from unboxing your kit to writing your own code.

The Thingy:91 uses Nordic’s highly integrated nRF9160 System-in-Package (SiP) that makes low-power cellular IoT single chip solutions a reality. Bringing LTE-M, NB-IoT, GPS and a powerful application processor into a tiny form factor. The Nordic Thingy:91 enables a world of everything connected.
Tuesday Feb 25, 2 PM CET: Meet the nRF5340, the next generation in IoT
Presenter: Petter Myhre, Product Marketing Manager, Nordic Semiconductor

In this webinar you will meet Nordic’s latest nRF5340 System-on-Chip (SoC) that targets next generation IoT products and applications. The nRF5340 is the world’s first wireless SoC with two Arm® Cortex®-M33 processors. It is truly secure, and the combination of two flexible processors, an advanced feature set, and an operating temperature up to 105 °C, makes the nRF5340 the ideal choice for professional lighting, advanced wearables, and other complex IoT applications.

Wednesday Feb 26, 2 PM CET: Exciting new nRF9160 SiP features in nRF Connect SDK v1.2
Presenter: Peder Rand, Product Manager – Cellular IoT, Nordic Semiconductor

This webinar explains all the exciting new features in the latest release of the Nordic nRF Connect SDK version 1.2 for Nordic’s multi-mode LTE-M/NB-IoT nRF9160 SiP.

Thursday Feb 27, 2 PM CET: Demos you missed at MWC 2020
Presenter: Various

We are sorry we couldn’t show you these demos firsthand at MWC this year, but fear not because we will record them for you to watch here over and over again. These demos include asset tracking using LTE-M and GPS, Doom game play on Nordic’s newest dual core SoC the nRF5340, Zigbee and Thread smart home, Bluetooth Low Energy feature demos, and a special appearance demo by direction finding experts, Quuppa.
