nRF9160 DK는 LTE-M, NB-IoT 및 GPS를 위해 nRF9160 SiP에 대한 평가 및 개발이 가능한 경제적인 사전 인증된 단일 보드 개발 키트이다. 또한 블루투스 LE(Bluetooth Low Energy) 게이트웨이를 구현하는데 사용할 수 있는 nRF52840 보드 컨트롤러도 포함하고 있다.

 

이 개발 키트는 전세계적으로 동작이 가능한 광범위한 대역을 지원하는 LTE-M 및 NB-IoT 전용 안테나를 갖추고 있다. 현재까지 LTE 대역 B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8, B12, B13, B14, B17, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28 및 B66에 대한 인증을 완료했다. 추가 정보는 해당 페이지에서 확인할 수 있다

 

이 보드에는 GPS 전용 패치 안테나와 블루투스 LE에 사용되는 2.4GHZ 안테나가 포함되어 있다. LTE-M/NB-IoT 및 2.4GHz 안테나를 위한 SWF RF 커넥터도 제공된다. 또한 외부 GPS 안테나와 연결할 수 있는 커넥터도 지원된다.

 

모든 GPIO 및 인터페이스(SPI/TWI/UART)는 커넥터를 통해 사용할 수 있다. 이 키트는 아두이노 우노(Arduino Uno) Rev3과 호환되기 때문에 외부 디바이스 쉴드와 쉽게 인터페이스할 수 있다. 

 

사용자가 프로그램할 수 있는 LED(4)와 버튼(2) 및 스위치(2)를 사용하여 쉽게 입력을 제공하고, 출력을 얻을 수 있다. nRF9160 DK는 4FF SIM 카드 슬롯과 MFF2 SIM 풋프린트를 모두 갖추고 있어 플러그인 및 솔더링 방식의 (e)SIM을 모두 지원한다. 또한 아이베이시스(iBasis)의 10MB가 사전 로드된 eSIM 카드가 번들로 제공된다. 

세거(Segger) J-Link OB를 통해 프로그래밍 및 디버깅이 가능하며, 외부 타깃도 지원한다. nRF9160 DK는 완벽한 개발 소프트웨어 및 툴을 통해 지원된다. 모두 무료로 다운로드 및 상업적으로 이용 가능하다. 

 

nRF Connect SDK는 애플리케이션 프로토콜 및 예제, 주변장치 드라이버 등을 비롯해 개발을 시작하는데 필요한 모든 것을 갖추고 있다. 이 키트는 노르딕의 클라우드 솔루션인 클라우드용 nRF Connect(nRF Connect for Cloud)와 쉽게 연결할 수 있다. 데스크톱용 nRF Connect(nRF Connect for Desktop)에 위치한 nRF 링크 모니터(nRF Link Monitor) 툴은 링크를 테스트하고, 네트워크에 대한 정보를 추출할 수 있는 AT Command 인터페이스를 제공한다.
