Nordic Semiconductor’s enhanced ‘Power Profiler Kit II’ (PPK2) has been named winner of two highly regarded awards in Greater China. The PPK2 for power profiling and power optimization of embedded solutions won the ‘Best Development Tool’ categories of the 2022 EE Awards Asia and the 21ic Electronics Network Top10 Power Awards.
"A power consumption analyzer and debugger is essential when developing and revising code for your low-power and battery-operated wireless application," says Bjørn Åge "Bob" Brandal, Nordic Semiconductor, VP of Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific. "The PPK2 is an affordable yet powerful tool used by embedded Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE-M, and NB-IoT developers. We're delighted to receive these awards and recognition for the enhanced Power Profiler Kit."
The EE Awards Asia celebrates the best products, companies, and individuals across the continent's highly regarded electronics industry. Winning products were required to demonstrate to a judging panel comprising editors, senior industry analysts, as well as online voters and product users, the ability to add value and improve modern life through the application of technology. The 21ic Electronics Network Top10 Power Awards were launched in 2003, and recognize technological innovation in power products. The winners are selected by a combined judging panel of online voters and experienced 21ic Electronics Network editorial staff.
PPK2 enables easy and affordable power measurement during wireless product development with Nordic’s nRF53, nRF52, and nRF51 Series multiprotocol wireless SoCs and the nRF91 Series low power cellular IoT SiP. The cost efficient PPK2 development tool provides a simple method for hardware and software engineers to measure average and dynamic power consumption in embedded solutions.
The associated PC software is bundled as a separate app inside Nordic’s cross-platform development software, ‘nRF Connect for Desktop’. The app provides a unified GUI for the PPK2, and provides several ways of assessing the power consumption, both instantaneous and averaged over a set time period.
Established as the world's leading Bluetooth® LE company, Nordic has since evolved into a wireless IoT company able to wirelessly 'connect anything' via low power wireless technologies such as Bluetooth LE, Wi-Fi, LTE-M, and NB-IoT.
