S122 SoftDevice

Memory-optimized Central-only Bluetooth Low Energy protocol stack

SoftDevice S122 is a memory-optimized Bluetooth® Low Energy protocol stack for the nRF52811, nRF52820 and nRF52833 System-on-Chips (SoCs). Up to 8 connections as a Central can be run concurrently with an Observer. It is Bluetooth 5.2 qualified and supports the following Bluetooth features: high-throughput 2 Mbps and channel selection algorithm 2 (CSA #2). The number of connections and bandwidth per connection are configurable, offering memory and performance optimization.

It is a complete stack with GAP, GATT, ATT, SM and Link Layer. Both GATT Server and Client are supported. The broad feature set also includes Privacy 1.2, configurable ATT MTU and LE Secure Connections.

Changelog:

8.1.1SoftDevice S122

  •  Bugfix release. See release notes for details.

8.1.0SoftDevice S122

  • Added compatibility for the nRF52811 SoC in addition to the nRF52820 and nRF52833 SoCs
  • 128-bit UUIDs can be discovered more efficiently by enabling the BLE_GATTC_OPT_UUID_DISC option. This option enables the automatic insertion of discovered 128-bit UUIDs to the Vendor Specific UUID table
  • Bigger range of radio output power levels is added
  • Fixed an issue where for idle periods shorter than 9 ms, there was an additional power consumption of 0.5 to 1 mA
